Frequently asked questions

Can LicenceGuard apply for DBS checks?

No. LicenceGuard records and tracks checks you have carried out through the DBS or a registered body. It does not submit applications.

Do DBS certificates expire?

A DBS certificate has no official expiry date, but many employers, especially in care, renew checks on a set cycle. LicenceGuard tracks a renewal date for each check so you can apply your own policy and flag checks older than three years.

Can I record the Update Service?

Yes. Record whether each person is subscribed to the DBS Update Service.

Can I track DBS for candidates?

Yes. Checks can be recorded for candidates as well as existing employees.
